On the Wednesday of Week 5, W+PS hosted a graduate school panel with a diverse panel, each with a unique academic background. The panel consisted of graduate students with academic backgrounds in physics, math, astronomy and engineering. Many heavily emphasized on reaching out to professors when researching graduate programs. Forming a personal connection may increase one’s chances of acceptance. As the meeting came to a conclusion, participants were split into breakout rooms to ask more personalized questions. This meeting definitely helped many have a better understanding of graduate school and the application process.
